About

Live Oak Kids is located in the East Bay, CA. We offer community based OT services as well as outdoor developmental nature playgroups.

At LOKi, our mission is to provide accessible programming that brings kids "back to nature" and fosters Growth, Connection, Engagement and Joy !

We value foundational skills that are crucial for overall development and children's mental health; outdoor/nature play, moving to learn (and learning to move), sensory integration and functional oculomotor/vision skills. We love helping children and families thrive !

Maggie O'Reilly, MOT, OTR/L
Owner, Occupational Therapist

Maggie created LOKi to provide accessible and engaging outdoor programming for children of all abilities. She grew up in Pennsylvania, playing in the woods and climbing on the haystacks at the family farm. After completing an undergraduate degree in Dance and Kinesiology,  Maggie moved to California and completed a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy at Samuel Merritt University.

Maggie's 16+ years of experience as a pediatric occupational therapist have allowed her to practice in a variety of settings including in-patient rehabilitation, pediatric out patient clinics, early intervention home-based services, school-based practice, and nature based settings. She has completed extensive post graduate training and specializes in early intervention services, nature based therapy, sensory integration and oculomotor/vision rehabilitation for children.

Maggie is trained in the ConTiGO Approach (Connection & Transformation in the Great Outdoors), an evidence-based framework to guide best practice in nature-based therapy with children. Maggie is thrilled to be part of the Cedarsong Way Forest School community and has completed The Cedarsong Way Teacher Training for children ages 2-6.
