Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Serving Pittsburgh, PA and the Bay Area, CA
Live Oak Kids helps young children feel more comfortable navigating
social, sensory and learning situations.
We offer both nature based and mobile therapy with flexible scheduling.
Celebrating strengths, building confidence, and identifying solutions – one adventure at a time.

Children’s sensory and emotional needs are not inconveniences – these preferences matter and need to be respected and celebrated.
Kids thrive when we look at the full picture, not just isolated struggles. Our holistic approach is grounded in joy and play, builds strong brains, strengthens nervous system responses and offers ongoing caregiver support.
Using a neuro-developmental, strengths-based approach, we mature the brain and sensory systems while weaving together self-regulation, interoceptive awareness, and each child's unique strengths and interests — creating meaningful, real-life change.
We help kids go from being misunderstood to being successful at home, school and in the community.
It all starts by learning to look beyond behavior so we can get to the root of the challenges for your child.
Some examples of areas where we support kids:
-
Fine motor or gross motor delays
-
Sensory challenges that impact home or school activities
-
Always on the go or bumping into things
-
Can’t self-regulate through big emotions
-
Lack of confidence or skills for climbing, jumping or playing
-
Struggles to follow directions
-
Overly fearful in new or unfamiliar situations
-
Lack of awareness of social or physical boundaries
-
Difficulty handling upset or change/meltdowns
-
Suspect or been diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, PDA, or sensory processing disorder
-
Physical aggression at school or home

“My son had fun while enhancing his skills”
My son has truly thrived since we began collaborating. From the very start, Maggie took the time to understand my son’s unique needs, enabling us to set realistic and achievable goals tailored specifically for him.
Maggie consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that my child maximizes the benefits of each session. Her attentiveness to parents is remarkable. She frequently shares valuable recommendations for activities I can try at home, which have proven to be incredibly beneficial. Watching my son explore, climb, swing, and have fun while enhancing his skills has been a delight.

More about our Pittsburgh, PA Location
From nature groups on our farm to individual OT sessions at your home, preschool, or local park, we’re here to help kids feel good about themselves as they work to build skills for a lifetime.
Coming in 2026, our South Fayette location provides a
rich farm-inspired environment that offers open space and freedom to give each child what they need.
Nestled on a beautiful hillside of our small, family owned sheep farm, surrounded by trees and natural landscapes, children are offered unique outdoor sensory experiences, which allow for movement, balance, and sensory integration in a way that indoor play can’t match.
The combination of fresh air, varied terrain, and therapeutic animal experiences, creates a dynamic environment where children can develop motor skills, practice self-regulation, and soak in the healing properties of nature. It’s an opportunity to explore, connect with the earth, and find joy in new and novel experiences – one jump, swing, or climb at a time.
More about our Bay Area, CA Location
